It was 30 years ago on this very day that The wedding Present released their debut album, 'George Best'. It's time to celebrate in the only suitable way by playing the record LOUD.
The Wedding Present had already appeared on multiple John Peel sessions by the time the LP emerged and it is very fitting that today David Gedge and the band return to Maida Vale studios once more to record the latest in a long line of sessions for Marc Riley.
The documentary will be tagging along to get some footage of the session as the film continues to take shape. It's been an incredibly exciting year so far tracing the lifespan of this album and there are plenty more interviews and events lined up before the year is out.
Keep an eye out for more news soon including a big trip to where the whole story began in Leeds. Plus an announcement about some of the exclusive rewards available once the crowdfunding campaign launches to aid the completion and release of the film.
